Classification: Reanimated Dead / Cursed Undead
Origin: Scandinavia
Known Witnesses: Aiyana, Balam (Berlin)
Draugr are not zombies, not ghosts. They are bodies, dead ones, moved by will, magic, or hatred. Probably all three.
Aiyana said they were “cold and hungry,” and that a feeling of being cold and hungry was a complete suppression of warmth that obfuscated her senses. Balam said they moved with “deliberate slowness, like they didn’t care if you ran.” Both commented on the smell: dust and decay and dirt.
Historically, Draugr are tied to Norse death magic. Warrior types who were cursed with greed or vengeance. Whatever raised them in Berlin is still being investigated, but they were moving with enough coordination that they likely had a summoner. Puck.
They are not fast. But they are relentless. Injury does not slow them. Pain does not register. One collapsed into pieces and kept crawling. Aiyana only stopped it with a command, channeled through golden light.
