She comes from a long line of seers. I’ve known of her since she was born. Remote village in Botswana, where I was during a dig. Quiet power in her bloodline.

But Nia is something more.

I saw her aura during my time there: gold, bright, steady. She was two. She saw me watching. I felt she was watching me back, seeing more that she should be able to.

Now at 16, of all the six, she reminds me most of myself. Same hunger for truth. Same burden of knowing.

Her visions are strong: symbolic, emotional, but clear. She sees energy, shifts, danger before it arrives.

She struggles between what’s expected of her and what she wants. Inherited duty, personal happiness. I know that tension too well.

I made her my intern to keep her close. Not to control her. To prepare her. I don’t know if she trusts me as she once did. But I am working on rebuilding that trust.
